Container House

Short Description:

Container House is composed of steel structure, sandwich wall panels, insulation materials, doors, windows, electrical systems, and interior decoration materials. It is widely used for office buildings, worker dormitories, construction site camps, mining camps, affordable housing, apartments, residential housing, youth hostels, schools, hospitals, and post-disaster reconstruction projects. Featuring modular design and customizable configurations, it offers low cost, convenient transportation, and fast installation.

Its biggest advantage is the knock-down design, in which all components are disassembled for transportation. This eliminates size restrictions during shipping, greatly reduces freight costs, and allows efficient loading into standard containers. It is especially suitable for remote areas and projects with limited construction resources.

Container House can be generally divided into three main categories according to their structural design and installation method: Detachable Container House, Flat Pack Container House, and Folding Container House. Each type has its own advantages in transportation, installation, and application scenarios.

Detachable Container House (Completely Knock-Down, CKD)

Detachable Container House, also known as Fast Assembly Container House, is delivered in fully disassembled components. All structural parts, wall panels, doors, windows, and accessories are packed separately for transportation. This design eliminates size restrictions, maximizes container loading efficiency, and offers the lowest transportation cost. Installation is completed on site by assembling all components, and single-story or small-scale projects usually do not require cranes. It is the most economical option for large projects and long-distance international shipping.

Flat Pack Container House (Semi Knock-Down, SKD)

Flat Pack Container House is partially pre-assembled in the factory, with the roof and floor sections delivered as finished modules. This reduces the complexity of on-site work and improves installation efficiency. A crane is generally required to position the roof section during assembly. The standard size is typically 2438 × 5900 × 2620 mm, optimized for container transportation, and a 40HC container can usually load 8 standard units. It provides a good balance between transportation efficiency and installation speed.

Folding Container House (Fully Prefabricated Folding Design)

Folding Container House features a fully prefabricated folding structure in which most components are pre-installed in the factory. On site, the unit is simply unfolded and connected with minimal finishing work. This design offers the fastest installation among the three types and is especially suitable for emergency housing and projects with tight schedules. Transportation costs are similar to flat pack container houses, and unit dimensions are also limited by container size.
